Activity on the Exchange was down by around 10% in May as the trade’s attention was fixed on Bordeaux 2014. En Primeur saw a number of difficult—high priced—releases that have struggled to sell through. However, this challenging campaign has not depressed the overall market which has instead held steady: all but one of the major indices saw slight gains last month.
  • Market holds in spite of challenging En Primeur
  • Rhone 100 top performer in May
  • James Suckling on Napa Valley 2012
  • Chart of the month: Bordeaux 2005
  • Final Thought: Bordeaux 2014: Heroes and villains
