Château Les Ormes de Pez, is a leading cru bourgeois property from an exceptional St. Estèphe area, owned by the Cazes family who are also owners of Château Lynch Bages.The vineyard is located north of St Estephe is a commune and made of 32 hectares of vineyards, which lie on soils rich in gravel on a subsoil of sand and clay. The grapes are hand-harvested and then fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel vats. The wine is then matured in a combination of one and two-year-old barrels from Lynch-Bages. Like m ost of St. Estèphes wines , Ormes de Pez may appear somewhat austere, soft and dry when young; however, it usually evolves nicely with time, becoming softer, rounder and more refined with a few years in the bottle. The wines normally require at least 5 years of bottle ageing to show at their best. Start drinking now .
